Good day all, it’s a Monday morning in the new year. It’s early, could not sleep…wonder how many other people in the world are awake cause of not sleeping, different time zones, or working….. imagine all the people Lennon said, living live in peace…. so I am awake and imagine that. People caring for each other’s, sharing and realizing this is the moment…..the here and know….of being….breathing slowly and deeply, letting all tension go out on the breath…. feeling loose, limp and relaxed…this is our time know to relax deeply….. just let it sink in…. hear the rain on your roof….a bird flying bye…. the wind outside….. ahhh live don’t you love it ….
Today after during the day having spent time with my son, I was watching a program about villages in the Netherlands, fishing villages they are also called. Several woman born around 1920 shared their stories about how life was during those times. No water, flushing toilets, vacuum cleaners. Electricity, heating. And more. The houses were heated or at least part of it with petroleum and also cooking was done that way. Several times a year the town got flooded due to high water, rough south sea. Most people did not have much money to live from and the girls started working already at early age, no proper schooling. She did share they seemed more happy during those days. And when I did see the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about hot running water. Light at the flick of a switch and more, made me realize (bit ashamed) how much we have these days but we do not realize this. When you walk around town you see many people with no smile on their faces…..
So this year during our Covid pandemic let us focus also on all that we have and can be grateful for and realize the different in standard of living for large part of the population compared to 1900’s
Perhaps you wonder why I write this to you… You are looking to get the most out of life. And when I write “the most out of life” I mean to experience joy, enjoy the company of others, sharing moments, to be thankful your living, to enjoy yourself. Which you can do by finding your life purpose. You do this by finding your key values. What is important for you, key for you to experience a fulfilled life?
Create your list with key values. Imagine you woke up this morning, anything is possible… you make a quantum leap in time to reach your most fulfilled life, like you can use a magic want and all is how you want it to be. Now check and write down the key values you would have that moment. So what sets you on fire, what motivates you to your core?
Now based on those create your plan of actions. Brake down the large findings into smaller steps, create your strategy and start working on those steps. Create momentum, and keep the momentum going.

Welcome to iamyourcoach. Today I was sitting on my balcony. The wind was blowing through the trees nearby and I heard that soft blowing of the wind…. A bird making a cooko sound, some bird’s tjirping…..
Really brought my attention back to the environment… relaxing…. Peaceful and as I was listening and experiencing, feeling the wind on my face, the sun warming my body I focused my attention on the breath…. Took a good deep breath in, and as I breathed out, let any tension I felt anywhere in my body go….. Deep breath in…. and letting go ahhhhhh….
After the outbreath holding the breath, 1, 2, 3, 4 and deep breath in, this relaxed me even more…….
So I invite you the coming days when you have tension, feel stressed to take a moment and do what I did….

How are you doing now corona is the new normal, stressful? Do you recognise being at home, working, your kids making homework or that is the idea. Online meeting still all want attention and there talking to you. STRESSFUL right…? Then all the news, different opinions, changes in daily live, how will it be, what to expect…? Less or different contact with family and friends. Your daily habit is different, how do you deal with that? And how can you keep your attention on the positive? At this moment there is so much offer to work on your stress. Below how you can deal with this and what you can do about it.
First of all wheres you focus, with all that’s happening to you. When you attention is on that which you can not control, shift your attention to what you can control. The amount of information which media pours over you (of what you allow to be pored over you) brings you nothing. Watch news moderately to stay informed about the last rules and agreements and leave the rest (talk shows and updates). It does not alter the outcome, it’s all stories and in the end when a treatment is found or other improvements will hear it all. When you look at how people work together, the re-appreciation (homeschooling has brought enormous insight into my impatience with my son of 7 years old) like for his teachers… Spontaneous aid projects to people who are less mobile, example the students who help out all positive news….
Focus on sporting at home, information on meditation a good book, new recipes, walking. Focus on stuff that is useful to you and let the negative pas bye. Catch yourself stuck in your brain, watching negative news or listing to the negative stories, you decide where to focus and to shift the focus. And from experience, you feel better after exercise or moving, meditating or listening / watching people who inspire you (you-tube or other). Be conscious on when you want to avoid unrest, stress do not use avoidance behaviour like overeating, drinking… replace this by habits which contribute to you health physical as well as mental.
Take care of yourself…
There is enough to take care of yourself, shift your focus on feeling well from all kinds of sources. If you find it a challenge it takes only one step to get going. Focus, attention. Where does your attention go? Think back to a moment you had a great day? Your at the beach for example, sun is shining. Soft breeze. Lovely, your feet in the warm water cause you are in a warm country, a sunny destination. Great, enjoying.
Or you are in a magnificent forest, beautiful high trees, soft breeze moves the tops of the tree softly. You see the rays of sunshine trough the treetops, braking trough the leaves, beautiful those rays of sunshine. You hear the birds en easily you are walking trough the forest whilst looking around.
Now go back in time to a sad moment, example last time you where at a funeral. The people, the sadness…..
What you now have experienced is I guided you via these stories, I took your attention and steer it to those 3 places. 2 of them were beautiful experiences and the third one a sad experience. And only via telling you a story, asked you to go back to earlier experience. So that shows where your attention goes the energy flows. So focus on good moments and experiences, not on what does not work or you do not want.

Good morning, how are you today? Do you know the feeling or the thought, and you look back on the week, the year and trying to look ahead. You watch yourself going to the office each day. You wake up. Not in the mood to get up. You twist and turn, pillow over your head. Aaarghh….Monday. You get up, do what you have to do and head into office. All of a sudden you think to yourself, how many years will I still do this? If you recognise this and your sure you want it different, only it’s not clear how……
Het is vroeg in de ochtend. Word wakker, kijk op de klok 04:30. gedachten als een waterval van negatieviteit …… probeer te slapen, liggen, draaien, zuchten….. Kom niet in slaap op het laatst val ik toch nog even in slaap. Dan word ik weer wakker. 7:25. Ik zie op tegen de dag. Gevoel van binnen lijkt dood. Trek het masker aan van ik leef. Thuis, Werk, mensen, voel niets, of voel somberheid. Algeheel gevoel van waarom……. kan niet genieten, voel alleen maar niks…. leeg…… doods…….. als een robot door de dag, reageren op mensen, reageren alsof je normaal bent, of je leeft. Eenzaam alleen, kan het niet uiten mensen begrijpen het niet. Als je het uit, krijg je allerei verhalen waarom het leven de moeite waard is. Richt je op dingen die de moeite waard zijn. Alleen ben niks, leeg, doods van binnen dus er is niks de moeite waard, alles is moeite een strijd en de weg lijkt lang….. als er geen licht is aan het eind vand de tunnel….. Herken je het gevoel of de gedachte ik wil niet meer hoe het nu gaat. Morgen ga ik op tijd opstaan. Dan ga ik buitenhardlopen of fietsen, wandelen. Ik heb het nodig, bewegen. En je bent op dat moment er echt van overtuigd. Nu het is morgen, je ogen gaan open, je kijkt op de klok ah 06:00 uur. Blijf nog even liggen.

Avond, Vandaag kwam ik terecht bij muziek van Mike and the Mechanics. Het nummer heet The Living Years. Het kwam binnen de tekst. Het gaat over niet blijven hangen in conflicten, je gelijk willen hebben want wanneer je dat doet verstoor je de toekomst met die personen. In dit geval gaat het om zijn vader, de tekst I wish I could have told him in the Living years zegt het allemaal en het stuk I wasn’t there that morning when my father passed away, I didn’t get to tell him all the things I had to say. Think I caught his spirit later that same year, I am sure I heard his echo in my baby’s new born tears, I just wish I could have told him in his living years.
